Felony Expungement

Seal a portion of your criminal record today

Felony Expungement
What It Is

Effective July 1, 2013, Indiana's Second Chance Law (Code 35-38-9) allows applicants to petition the courts to have certain parts of their criminal record sealed.

Why Get It

Felony convictions prevent many people from full participation in our society.  Expungement restores dignity and access to jobs, voting, public resources, and aid.

How To Do It

Scroll down for more information and to complete the expungement form.  After filling it out, if you qualify, we will refer you to a pro bono lawyer to guide you through the rest of the process.

“Today’s lynching is a felony charge. Today’s lynching is incarceration. Today’s lynch mobs are professionals. They have a badge; they have a law degree. A felony is a modern way of saying, ‘I’m going to hang you up and burn you.’ Once you get that F, you’re on fire.”

An estimated 2.5 percent of Americans—or 6.1 million voters—are disenfranchised because of past felony convictions.  One in 13 Black Americans (and 1 in 53 non-Black American) have lost their right to vote due to past convictions.
